Hey, I just joined here a few days ago, loving all the stuff I've seen so far. Wanted to get some actual criticism instead of all the useless praise back over at DeviantArt. I look forward to exploring this site more.

Very nice cartoon style, only complaint is to make the fingers on the short fat guy in the first piece look like fingers instead of claws. Otherwise great work.

Ah. You play Team Fortress 2. That's nice. I feel slightly confused looking at the demomans chair, and his pose isn't entirely convincing, but I really like your style and your lines.

Ha ha, Freud. Anyway, it looks as if you've got your cartoony style wrapped up nicely, but there is one thing that I'm not seeing (and believe me, I learnt this doing my Animation diploma): that is action/emotive/characterful poses.

So far you've got character designs down and that's good, but it'll be useless in your portfolio if it doesn't show any of them "being" something. I tell you what, I'd love to see that dwarf guy with the axe just volcanic mad, like he's about to cut a boulder in two. Or maybe your coboy vigilante with all guns blazing whilst jumping through the air. That would be cool, but more importantly, show how good you really are.

I'm going to subscribe to this thread; I want to see how you do! :D

the line of "ink", sometimes, you give a cartoon style to a color verison, the cartoon style need in my opinion a clean inked lineartem without lines crossing each other like a sketch. Sorry if I express myself with a bad english...

Cool stuff man! You seem to have found your own style, which is great! Nice to see some more dynamic stuff (the latest orc)., it's easy to get stuck at the point where you just draw something that stands there. I myself kinda suck at drawing dynamic pictures, but it's good practise.

Some different armor variations for World War 2 Orcs. Used a bunch of they could've salvaged from vehicles or soldiers. Also, friend asked me to do a bone armor one, not to my liking, but it turned out okay.

Illustrator is very nice, I've had some experience with it before, but I prefer Photoshop for my digital needs.

I preferr photoshop too, but for a lineart like your last one illustrator is better, faster, and really more rich in possibilites! :) Later, you can always to charge the work in photoshop for effects, texture and so on. Anyway, it is only an idea! :D

The dancing girl is really old, done with a mouse in Photoshop.

The Desktop is something I did when I got frustrated at the lack of well designed wallpapers on the web.

Samuel L. Jackson I did for my school paper and a review of Snakes on a Plane.

Harry Potter piece is just me goofing around after finishing the last book.

You've got a great sense of design. You do a good job both in your compositions and your character designs of using lines to move the viewers eye around the picture. I especially like the composition of the soldier piece (hope you don't mind if I set it as my wallpaper!).

Its a minatures game that focuses around steampunk mechs, its pretty cool and i collect a little bit of it. You might like to have a look for inspiration because one of the armies in it happens to be very russian influenced, and badass.

Its a shame i cant find any of the illustration work from it on the net, as thats where their badassness shines :/.

I've been focusing a lot more on studies than style lately, so the beards have been coming slowly :( Maybe I'll start putting huge beards on all the models and figures I draw haha ;)

Finn!! <3 i recognized that right away..except the beard of course lol. I like the way you do your poses changing up the round and squares, I think I learned a little something just looking at that. You have a nice cartoon style :] If you haven't been looking/reading material about hands then I think you should, they are lookin' good, but are still off in the proportions. Mainly the fingers get too long and slightly wide. Keep em' comin! :D

Some really great designs and redesigns in here. I love the bold shapes and stylization.

I noticed that your digital inking is coming out a bit wobbly. I'd have thought you meant it to be, had I not seen your clean, crisp pencils. If it's of any value I can say that Manga Studio has the best setup for digital inking that I've used. The auto correction feature (essentially smoothing) can be easily fine-tuned to suit your skill level, hardware types, etc. The line tapering feature is really excellent as well.

Had the idea for a modern day Lord of the Rings today, just toying around with some designs. Will probably finalize.

THe idea would be that Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli are special forces for their respective countries in some big World War 3 situation. Here's what I've got so far

Your stuff is super fun, and you've got great taste. Glean Keane is one of my heroes - Tarzan blows my mind :D.
Only suggestion is to vary your characters a bit more- lots of beefy men in here, can't forget the ladies :)

awesome stuff! would love to see caricatures of animals, i'm always amazed at how they can express animals in so many ways. Actually the humanoids are awesome too, just wanna see more! A finished illustration with them in it would be perfect!

yo dude! love the work!! all of it! i really love the stylising of the rhino, how you did the study to understand it, then you styled it. most people dont take the time to understand what they are styling before they attempt to cartoon it, but as your book shows, its the right way for sure. keep it up man!
