wip - i don't really know what to think of this yet. the idea came to me as i was photographing trees, being that a interstellar river may resemble a giant blue tree.

oh, and yeah this is a heavy photo manipulation, is this allowed chaos? and i'm going for a mythological vibe. and for inspiration think spelljammer.

the more i look at this, i think finished, however, i just finished off a bottle of chardonnay :)

Hi this is my first post on this forum, but I have been viewing this forum for a long time! It has inspired me to buy a wacom tablet and I tried to do digital paintings my self.

Great start already. I missed out on last weeks castles being too busy to focus, so I am missing EOW acutely now. I am distilling ideas at work and hope to make time this weekend to work on them.

Tsujni> If you are cheesey then its an exotic cheese, a smoked jalapeno gouda perhaps. I love your concepts they frak with my head. I look forward to seeking your pollishing.

Mubanga> Great first day! How you liking the tablet? Crit: I think you may have put the ship too close to the bend in the river. If a sail boat like that was trying recover from sucha sharp corner it'd be leaning severely. I'd suggest making that bend a bit further back maybe even off the page because once the sails are filled in you will barely be able to see any of the star river behind the ship.

wip - Melville had his shot, my turn. As you can see by these 'V' shapes, you can easily see that Moby is a female. Possibly multiple females. A female ship!

Xezor1324 - nice ethereal river, sparkles. The area with the planet's shadow left edge seems weird.

I like the pipe tsujni. It helps seperate the sky and the water and brings the piece back to reality, a little bit ;) looks good.

Damn fine painting there Corrick, I think the "smoke track" looks just a little bit too flat, the weakest point imo. Fluff it up. Other than that it's going to be one of the favorites to win, for sure.

It's beautiful, just like your other environments... but just like you said you might want to punch it up just slightly, how I don't know... it feels very very dreamy, because all of the softness everywhere, but I do like it like this too, so don't feel like you have to...

A word that pops up is neutral, very neutral, calm. Space is all that, maybe your just in the right place then. ;P
