View Full Version : Unofficial C.O.W. Interim Edition- #0.1: Has Six...
February 12th, 2008, 10:09 PM
For more infos and details about the rules go here:
Wednesday, 20th February 2008 or when Fozzy gets a new C.O.W. up.
note: The deadline won't be EXACTLY after a week...it can last up to 24 hours more, i am human and have to work also, you know
:yayca: Please treat this thread as you do every official C.O.W. thread.:yayca:
Post discussion, questions, wips, and finals in this thread (Unless a change is noted*).
Host your final images outside of the forums (Photobucket, etc..).
*If the number of people interested gets too high (10ish?), I'll start a "Final Image Thread" for everyone. Otherwise, I'll just do it the old way, so mark your final image as final. Actually, being that I am not a mod, I would not be able to delete disqualified entries, so just mark your finals here.
The image, and icon, and portions of this post were copied directly from Fozzybar's C.O.W threads.

thanx to Everyone in the topic idea thread that suggested something with the number 6. Also thank you to Fozzy for running C.O.W., this is a real pain to set up. Get well, and back to us soon.
1. A creature which has six of something. (eyes, brains, legs, tails, horns, toes, whiskers, etc..)
2. We are talking about physical anatomy here. So, nothing like personalities, senses, or souls. Yeah, it's clever, but not on topic for this.
3. No individual/character!!! Make a concept of a species!
February 12th, 2008, 10:35 PM
Awesome, gonna have fun with this one! Ashamed to admit the first thing that popped into my mind was completely inappropriate, heh.
February 13th, 2008, 12:52 AM
Mucho props to Zebra for getting this going. Personally, I wouldn't mind doing two cows a week, might just do that in the future for my own artistic sake. One interim, and one not interim.
I know it's unofficial, and I've still been practicing like a mofo for the next one, but damn it feels good to have something to look forward to. Thanks again Zebra.:asspat: :yayca:
Been working on some new techniques. Oh god it itches! Must scratch!
February 13th, 2008, 01:32 AM
Mucho props to Zebra!
Thanks man. I am just as itchy as you are. I got a new tablet, and am ready to break it in.
On a side note, I just read your bio on your site. You went to AIP? Me too. Same degree and everything. We probably had the same teachers. I'm going to PM you.
Ryoken- I actually had anuses in my examples. Glad your aboard.
February 13th, 2008, 07:25 AM
This is very awesome of you. I hope lots of people come.
February 13th, 2008, 09:27 AM
This is cool, i might just join in
February 13th, 2008, 10:49 AM
Yeah cool im liking this.
Im going to try post six rough ideas for this 'HAS SIX' idea.
Yeah nice one Zebra. Get better soon foz
February 13th, 2008, 11:38 AM
I'd like to give this one a try as well. I already started an Industrial Design of the Week waiting for a COW, so unless Fozzy comes back before I finish that, I'll work on this one next. Hey, when Fozzy comes back maybe he'll just declare this one as "official." Has Six... is a promising concept to start with.
Now trying to think of something unique to make six of is part of the challenge. For me, I'm immediately dismissing arms, legs, and eyes as they seem too easy (alhough certainly there should be ways to do arms, legs or eyes that are not what you'd expect and so could be made more challenging as well). Good luck all!

It has Six Fozzies!
It had to be done. I doubt it will make it to the poll :perv:
The sixth fozz isnt the tail by the way.
February 13th, 2008, 06:36 PM

February 13th, 2008, 10:44 PM
here's my idea (still a WIP obviously); it has six massive boils on it's back.
although looking at the six-fozzies i can see that all hope is lost for me winning.
February 14th, 2008, 04:11 AM
hehe, glad you like it. It's great to make fun of Fozz, especially when he's not around :P
February 14th, 2008, 04:57 PM
I'm very fond of what you've got so far, retter. I want a critter like that for a pet. Digging yours as well, Supervlieg, not sure if I'd like it for a pet though. Or would I? ;)
February 15th, 2008, 02:20 AM
Looking good guys...
Supervlieg- Genius. :asslick:
I'm trying to get a manta/stingray thing, with a twist, going. The weekend is shot for me, hopefully I will get to do it Monday.

What I'd like to call:
Trying to get more into the painterly style.
Sure feels good to have a deadline again. By the way Zebra, PM'd you back. Not sure if you got it or not.
SV: You...are...a...goddamngenius. That was actually one of my ideas for this one, sans the Fozzy heads. Poor Foz. I was thinking maybe we should do a "Fozzybar in repose, sick as fuck and working his ass off" topic. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
Looking forward to seeing you back at the helm Foz. As for everyone else, what are you up to? And why the hell aren't you doing it here?

I'm not usually productive when hungover..this one was done with a very sore head:
February 17th, 2008, 12:50 PM
Has Six Lovers and six antenna thingies on the head :P
February 17th, 2008, 04:38 PM
Moobeasts feast on brain matter inside large animal heads like horses, big birds, crocodiles, all that shizz. Moobeasts are born attached to what ever animal skulls the mother was digesting at the time of pregnancy. Scientists are stumped as to why its always six skulls but there is a theory that this is probably the most any one Moobeast can devour at a single time however there is also a theory that this is to pass on as many diverse animal instincts to the offspring. Moobeasts only have one single eye so they lurk under ground with the skulls exposed above the surface to detect any activity as the light red skin surrounding the skulls is very censitive. Once prey is near they jump out and chase after the prey mouths open and drooling with anticipation. They dont mess about, they just bite the head straigh off. They take a while to digest the brain matter then poo it out through the long blubbery tail. Moobeast life span is unknown but as age take effect the beasts skin grows weak around the skulls and as they fall off the Moobeast bleeds to death.

fughi from yuggoth- Interesting concept. I'm finding that the background is kinda hurting the creature quality though. The Shell, and starfish, look like they are floating there, and the soft edged dont help them much. I would also recommend adjusting the creature's shadow, the scribble look makes it look unfinished. With that said, the creature, which could be refined more, is very cool. I like the leafy things on top, and the purple bally things on its back(or front?).
daveneale - I like that alot. Its very surreal on the white. It almost looks like a species that is solitary in an alternate universe. I think I may have to try drawing hungover...
Espenboi- Well, you got me. I may have said lovers are not part of the anatomy of the creature, but then you sneakily give it six antenna thingies too. Good show! Looks great.
UCT- Yours is borderline at best as far as the topic goes, but your description makes it fine. After all, this is only interim COW, and I am not Foz. Looking good so far, I hope you get to finish it in time.
EVERYONE- This topic will end on Wednesday, as planned. If there is no word from Foz by then, I will start another interim Cow. But I think he will be back tomorrow(monday).
I'll post a voting thread, make sure you host outside of CA and mark your final.
Also thanks to everyone participating, making my efforts to keep the activity going, even in the absence of the official one, worth while. :)
February 18th, 2008, 05:34 AM
Zebra - Cheers for bothering to do this, its good of you. I thought my idea was alright tho, bit surprised to hear its borderline. I might start again but do something smaller if thats the case. I might be able to get it looking finished and more refined.
Retter - cool beastie dude, I can imagine that finished. Look forward to it.
Daveneale - nice one bud, looks good. Sweet lay out aswell.
Espenboi - great idea & image. Theres a blue mark at the bottom left, does that mean something?
scorge/ misledtomisery - Im waiting for these to be finished. The finals will be epic.
fughi from yuggoth - made me laugh in a good way. I like
Supervlieg - for the win
February 18th, 2008, 11:09 AM
Hey! I am backm thanks for this interim round ;) You kept the mob busy until my recovering :D
The poll of round 108 and the new round 109 are on, so get your asses to the proper threads, BUT don't leave this one until the deadline...i don't want to ruin the party ;) Thanx again to all who supported me meanwhile!
February 19th, 2008, 02:20 AM
Thanks foz! Good to have you back.
Ironically, I havent even been able to start my entry for this, and I may not get to since its already tuesday. But thats the fallout of having a girlfriend for valentines day, while she has a 3 day weekend for presidents day :assspank:
I'll still be posting A final/voting thread on wednesday, around 8pm NewYorkTime (est), If there is a strong amount of unfinished work, I may post some of the wips, since the lot will end up migrating back to the COW room.
Either way, thanks and good luck getting this done! See you all back in the land of Foz.
February 20th, 2008, 02:43 AM
My critter has six spines.
Edit: That should be COW, not CHOW.
