Montserrat College?

Have any of you gone/are going/ know someone who is/has gone (LOL) to Montserrat college in beverly, Mass ?

My friend is going there and absolutely despises it, and I just wanted to hear any other opinion I could find.

I was thinking about hopefully going there. I couldn't find any other opinions on it either.

well i took a class there during the summer and i didn't really care for the way the instructor was teaching the class. i didn't get what i was hoping to get from it..... i personally didn't want to go there after that experience, right now i am attending AIB i like it so far the school seems very well staffed "imo" well i hope this helps a little :)

My friend recently took a "Leave of Absence". =\
he has no plans to return though.

Small world... I was referred to this site by a friend I met at Montserrat. I attended 1993-1998, and WOULD NOT recommend it as a school for serious Illustration majors. The Fine Arts program was decent, with some very good faculty, and I felt that the first 1 1/2 - 2 years or so provided me a fantastic foundation as an artist. But beyond that, I realize now I should have transferred out after 1st year to a school with a real dedication to Illustration.

I currently attend Montserrat as a graphic design major, and will continue to go here till I get my BFA. I haven't had any problems with the teachers of facilities.

I'd like to know why people hate it so much...
