'the smell of paint was everywhere...in the hallways, in the lobby, in the streets. Surely not every room in every skyscraper contained an artist? When the 6th statue was erected I knew something was different about this city. When people started selling their possessions and quitting their jobs for art equipment I knew something was wrong with this city. I need to escape...as soon as i'v finished this canvas...'

Some people wanted very badly to do this topic, but it just so happened to fall on a holiday that requires a lot of traveling for them. I'd love to make time in my life to do every one of these, Chaos.

Next time I'd suggest putting EOW on hiatus.

Voted for Nightblue. Great dichotomy in the architecture, superb rendering.
jread, yours was a fantastic depiction of an artists' space, and I would love to live there myself, but it struck me as any city, anywhere, and was a bit two dimensional (in the idea, not the rendering). In my opinion, a city of artists should incorporate everything that inspires an artist. It should be a combination of dreary, dank humility... airy, sunlit spaces full of cheer... firey, destructive places bent on impulsive effort, etc...

im thinking it was just too big a bite to chew in a week (well almost two). artist are so original that building a city for them is a daunting task. I allmost feel like posting this as an ongoing thread like Mikes Dragon thread. I t has so many possiblities its scary. any way two we got were well worth posting and ...oooon we go!
