EOW#69 The restaurant at the end of the universe (apology's to doug adams)
Description if you don't already know:
Milliways, also known as The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, can only be visited practically by time travel, as it exists at the end of time and matter. Marvin the Paranoid Android is one character who manages to reach Milliways without the use of time travel, merely by being very patient. One of the restaurant's major attractions is that diners can watch the entire universe end around them as they eat. The terminal moment is followed by dessert. Reservations are easily obtained, since they can be booked once the patron returns to his or her original time after their meal, and the restaurant's bill can be paid by depositing a penny in any bank account of the present time: by the end of the universe, compound interest will be enough to pay the extremely high bill. Depending on when in Milliways' timeline they visited, the diners' vehicles may have been parked by none other than Marvin the Paranoid Android. Near-instant transportation to the restaurant can be achieved in certain rarefied circumstances, such as being next to an exploding hyperspatial field generator on the planet where Milliways will eventually be built several billion years after the explosion occurs.
Among the items on the menu are various cuts of meat from the very obliging Ameglian Major Cow and the slightly less obliging vegetables in a green salad. While water and Aldebaran liqueurs are in stock, tea is not.

Long time no see.. :) I haven't been on the forums for a while, and I miss you guys. If at all possible, I will be entering this round. I haven't seen the movie or read the book, but the topic sounds great.

EPIC!!!
That's all I have to say
Buy the book, and remember to celebrate Adams on the towel day!
I thought that the 69:th EOW would include porn somehow.
Oh well...

Dile_: That's not enough.
I wanna mate with the book.
Of course it'd not work after that, but heck, I don't care.

So it's not at the very end of the universe, but it IS during the beginning of the end......

Wow, I am a great Douglas Adams' fan then I guess participation in this activity is a must for me :) But it will be hard one because I am not very good at environments and Adams' imagination is so complicated that sometimes I think it better stays between words of his books.

Almost done, not quite sure if it's coming out looking so much like a restaraunt, but maybe a few tweaks will help before the end (no pun intended :) )

thanks for all the comments guys :) I too am impressed with the entries, especially your's Corrick, although the blue sky is maybe a little too familiar for the given brief (if that makes sense!? :S). very cool either way, and great perspective to boot.
p.s. Chaos- lol, I like to think that Escher may have eaten his waffles here! :D

robmorfin, interesting, elaborate architecture. I like the galactic atmosphere, but the super-bright star in the bottom left is dragging the focus away from the structure.
Morrigana, hopefully you'll get one in here, I'm liking your style. Even a similar idea has merit depending on the execution.
artiphats, great style of architecture, very unique. I love the space environment too.
jread, That's just damn cool. Near-photographic. I especially like the supernova on TV, nice touch.
Gaius, much appreciated. Where's your entry? :)

Did this quite fast, less than two evenings, was very tired finishing it so it's a little rushed. I did get into it though, just had busy week.

Wow, what an awesome idea. See long I was looking for people that would give me something to work on...at last I found conceptorg...I'll most likely be late for this, but I'll try to get something done anyway.
PS: jread that's some awesome detail! Its very different from the other submissions, very cool.

Not sure if this has any point in saying :) But in Surfers Paradise in Australia there is a resturant called "The resturant at the end of the universe" and it is inspired by the book, It was a realy funny resturant completly dark with all the food made so it glows in the dark ... weird stuff :)
well well
I will take part in these weekly tasks as soon as I am done in Forms enviroment class, a bit to much to do both at the same time, sorry

Hey guys. This is my first EOW. I'll try to join as much rounds as I can.
So here is my entry:

This Corridor or bridge or whatever you call this in english is for the ships to dock. After you docked and entered the restaurant the autopilot of the ship parks it beside the restaurant so that the next ship could dock.
