View Full Version : Spartan Camp #15 - 50 gestures + Optional Study of
Cwn Annwn
October 17th, 2007, 12:50 AM
The aim is to produce 50 gestures by Sunday the 21st of October.
The gestures can be of anything, human, animal, cavorting capybaras....and can be in any media, digi or traditional is fine.
In addition to this, participants can choose to do a study comparing the human male and female hipbones (best if you show the femurs too), in any media. Black and White or Colour is fine.
Come on soldiers! Flex those muscles!!
PS...critting each other is highly encouraged!! Let's help each other get better!

Very Nice Anthis, I think these look better than your last batch. The seated poses are looking good. Try doing some poses from your imagination too.
alright here's my poses, all from imagination

yeah man, basically you can do what you want as long it's in the realm of the guide lines. use ref, draw from imagination. the idea is to exercise as much as possible :D
i'll post mine later.

Howie: Thanks. Yea, wasn't doing well the week before. Did the seated ones after your advice. Males are from imagination, but I needed ref on the females and their poses. Bit of a weak point.
Your technique seems to pay off well for balance and legs especially. The proportions (arms, body sizes) seem a little off sometimes, but that might be because of the photograph distortion?
MeTaL-Mike; Hehe, I used to spread them out over the week, but I'm only postponing now... Thanks.
Nice variation you got there. Among pose, expression and style. I like #2 and #15 (same guy?). #2 reminds me of half-life..... Some necks seem a bit thin (among the expressions, not sure if intended). What ref did you use for the hipbones? In my ref, the hipbones had the same width, but the female one was only positioned differently.
Late crit -.-

Anthis - I did not use any ref for the gestures. only the Optional study. i've got it from a book called "Drawing Cutting Edge Anatomy – The ultimate reference guide for comic book artists" by Christopher Hart
I've got many ebooks on drawing and other stuff, just never have time to go through them all :D
