I'm struggling to find ways to improve, (I know I need lots of improvement too), I've read books on anatomy, I've tried to draw from imagination where I can. So if possible, give me some hard crits please! :)

Trying to sort out a few drawing issues I got, well, more like trying to refine them. Figuring what works, what doesn't, and then draw methodically, building up shapes in the mind as you put light lines down up to detail work. Consequently these took a longer time to finish, but they needed to take longer to finish, as I'm trying to break into the next level of drawing standard. Still not there, I'm comparing my work to Wesley Burt and Marco Djurdjevic mainly. Man I have a long way to get to their standard -_-~ This is what happens when you didn't draw enough while you're still a teenager. Bring me BACK THOSE YEARS!! :evil:

I was planning on clothing the last picture, but after 6 hours straight of sketching these, my mind just went into toast-down... so I left it as is. I feel like taking apart my hands and head, and re-program them to DRAW better. Dammit. More to come, I'm super determined to get to higher standard. hey cwans! yaaaaay! good to see you here dude, you'll get lots of help here.
theres nothing wrong with cgnz, its just too small to get lots of help...

i def think you're improving, the latest batch of drawings have alot more weight and volume in them than usual, so thats great. i think it would help to draw anything, not just people.

maybe try to get the detail down in as few lines as possible, this way you really think about where the weight and movement is, i find it a great way to learn...

hopefully ill be back with something more usefull...

You have a lot of nice stuff here; I see a lot of improvement. Try and loosen up the poses, a lot of these feel kinda stiff. Try doing some quick sketches of people in public areas. Concentrate on what the person is doing and pay less attention to surface details.

Lots of improvement from the first post! I really like these rugby drawings where they're crawling all over each other. I completely agree with howie - you should be focusing on the energy and balance of the pose. Your life drawings are looking better on that (because they are from life!) Try to draw from life more than photos if you can, it really helps.

As for your rendering, you should really be thinking of the planes of the body - try some people constructed from only straight lines and boxes (George Bridgeman is a good example of that) Once you have them as boxes just put in the light side and the shadow side and you've got a dynamically lit figure. Looking forward to see where you take your work next!

Howie: Yah, it is at this point in time a bit of an Archilles heel for me. I am trying to do more gestural poses at my life drawing sessions. Thanks for the pointer!!

Fishspawn: I do watch a LOT of rugby games, whenever I get the chance to! :P I just might have to break the stereotype soon and bring my sketchbook and look like a total geek on the sidelines doodling while a game is on. Lol.

More sketches. I think I need to find new subject matters, and also get rid of certain habits I'm developing, like over sketching, and not paying attention to negative spaces.
